9/20 POSC Meeting Notes

*There were some childcare/scheduling issues this week- our new schedule is that we’ll be meeting the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month from now on. That means we won’t be meeting until October 12th. The Library is used so we’ll meet in the conference room. The other POSC is meeting the 1st and 3rd – this helps the childcare scheduling out and simplifies things for the office.

Speaking of childcare, Stacie works really hard to ensure we have sitters. We’ll be using Small Group funds to give her a thank you GC to show our appreciation. We’ll also be doing something for the sitters (details TBD).

Thanks Becky for doing a GREAT JOB on the first lesson of Foundations, it was really cool that you were able to line-up the projector!

Sunday October 1st: if you haven’t already, please put a separate check in the offering for $15 to help offset the new curriculum’s expense. To ensure the funds go into the Small Group’s account, write Small Groups in the memo line. Thank you everyone who already has paid for their portion!

also on Sunday October 1st: the new adult POSC t-shirts will be distributed (to replace the type-o ones).

Friday Oct 6th: we're going to Todd's Football Game, ticket information is coming. We’re planning to arrive at Todd & Aurora’s no later than 6pm. We’ll walk to the game. If you can’t make it that early, call when you get to the stadium and we’ll direct you where to go. Todd's team colors are Navy and Black if you want to dress to impress.

Saturday Oct 7th: we're doing (we really are) the HelpMe project at Chris and Becky's.
We'll be painting the front 2 rooms of their house. It was decided last time that Kristy would provide childcare at their house (maybe with the help of a Jessica or Kristy?). Kiddo drop-off will be at 1:45pm (we’re driving straight home after Kole’s soccer game). Afterwards (that early evening) Kristy will drive the kids to Todd and Aurora’s where we’ll have a potluck dinner- please don’t forget car seats need to be setup in the Excursion.

Thursday Oct 12th: Our first “new” scheduled POSC meeting. E-connect meeting also scheduled.

Saturday Oct 21st: Trunk or Treat, Robin is heading up the decorations for our “trunk”- ssshhhh we’re competing with the other POSC so don’t divulge our secrets.

9/6 POSC Meeting Notes

Great meeting last night! Thanks Aurora for leading. Julia you did a great job the week before as well. You both are such a blessing.

We did some revamping of the schedule...
On Friday Oct 6th-we're going to Todd's Football Game. Aurora, can you email everyone the specific information?

On Saturday Oct 7th- we're doing (we really are) the HelpMe project at Chris and Becky's. We'll be painting the front 2 rooms of their house. It was decided last time that Kristy would provide childcare at their house (maybe with the help of a Jessica or Kristy?).

Newest info...

Drum roll please...

The NEW lesson plans are here! Angie got them for us in record time. Please thank Angie when you see her.

$$$$
Also don't forget, I'm asking that each couple contribute $15 to help offset the cost of the new study curriculum. Please write a separate check on Sunday to All Saints and in the note section write Small Group Fund.

T-shirts
The white T-shirts are officially paid for- Cathy will receive her final checks on Sunday 9/10. Please thank Cathy for doing such a great job. The turnaround time was awesome and she's been really flexible on the payment portion. Anyone needing a t-shirt in the future should for sure try Cathy first- she's so nice to work with. *Also, the newly revised adult shirts are in, the type-o has been corrected. I'll be distributed them soon, I'd love it if we could all wear them to the kid's Halloween Event this October (the date is October 21st).

The following other events are happening at All Saints...
9/17 GUMs Parents Mtg 12:30pm (Sunday)
9/23 Art Fair from 9am to 5pm (Saturday)
9/24 Pump it Up 1:30pm (Sunday)

Also on Sept 23rd we're doing a celebration for Kristy's parents, more details will be emailed soon. It will be a late afternoon thing and it's something like an open house- not a big commitment, just maybe drop by and hangout for a bit. I just want Jerry and Cleo to feel as cared for now at this stage of healing as they did when the accident happened.

Prayer Request
Please keep Art and Sunny in your prayers, we're praying for an uneventful pregnancy and two happy babies. Congrats to them for having TWINS.

8/23 POSC Meeting Notes

September 30th HelpMe for Chris and Becky: we'll be painting the front 2 rooms in their house. It was decided that the Kristy would provide childcare at the Winnett house (maybe with the help of a Jessica or Kristy?).

New Meeting Day: we're meeting on Wednesdays now, the 1st and 3rd in fact. We'll try to meet in the library but the room by the cry room may have to do. Start time is 7pm.

We have a new lesson plan selected; Kristy is looking into placing the order and is asking for $15 reimbursement per couple. They should be delivered by the next meeting time (Sept 6th).

T-shirt orders are winding down. The other POSC is waiting on their tan shirts and there are 3 shirts that should be ready September 2nd. I believe we're lacking payment from a couple or two, please write your checks to Cathy Doster and forward them to Kristy.

It looks like the following events are happening at All Saints...
9/17 GUMs Parents Mtg 12:30pm (Sunday)
9/23 Art Fair from 9am to 5pm (Saturday)
9/24 Pump it Up 1:30pm (Sunday)

7/18 POSC Meeting Notes

Jack's Bowling B-day Party is going to be Saturday August 5th, details are provided in the email. It will start at 2pm.

August 26th Chris and Becky will be taking advantage of a "help-me" project turn - we'll be painting the front 2 rooms in their house. We need to decide if this requires childcare or if we'll have one parent volunteer from each family (while the other stays back with their kiddos). It isn't a BIG job so I think 5 or 6 people would do, your thoughts?

Most importantly - we've rescheduled our meeting dates. We will now meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday each month instead of Tuesday. Between church council and band practice we're losing attendance from a few people so this day should be better for all.

Mike will lead the next meeting - we'll kick off the final chapter in this study. Anyone up to tracking down a new lesson- we're looking for something like the Bible 101 (and it would be great if it were from a Lutheran perspective).

T-shirt sizes orders have been placed. We should be getting them the 2nd week of August- the cost is between $7 and $10 (depending on if you ordered a t-shirt or romper/onesie).
