Serving Others

Sun 9/25 10am Prep for Luncheon

The POSC has decided to take care of lunch for new members on 9/25. We'll get together and prepare things at 10:00 am and then left it in the fridge until after service, and then we'll set it up outside the fellowship hall.

This may mean some of us will miss Sunday school class but with our class leaders being away that week- I think it works out well. Hopefully the nonPOSC Sunday school members will want to participate too (the Anderson's and Whitfill's already said they will).

Robin volunteered to do the shopping on Friday if she can store the food up at church (have we determined if that will be okay?). The cost will depend on the number of couples who are willing to contribute. We spent $20 bucks a couple last time, but I think there was only four couples that contributed (this year we already have 6 couples committed and up to 2 more we're gonna see about). So for now, let's plan on giving Robin $15 on Tuesday at the next POSC meeting.

Thanks Aurora for giving us this opportunity to serve others!

Colossians 1:10 - That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.

John 12:26 - If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

(Revised)Girls Night Out 9/24

Saturday, Sept 24th us girls are planning on going to Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar in Fort Worth. I’ve been there one time before and it was a lot of fun. We’re still working out the details but it looks like we’ll be heading out at 6:30pm, planning on getting there at 7pm. We can meet somewhere ahead of time and ride out together or just meet there. Put your comments here and we’ll setup the specifics. (817) 335-7384 is the number for Pete’s if you have any ?s

Julia is co-hosting a cropping session for the cure on the same day. It will be an all day event. I believe it from 11a-10p at Khaki's.

If you want to go to both, it shouldn't be a problem- maybe go to the cropping early and get meet up with the girls late?

New Lesson Plan

Becky Update: The new book we'll be studying is from the HomeBuilders couples Series. We're starting with "Building Teamwork in Your Marriage" and was written by Robert Lewis and David Boehi. The ISBN is 0-7644-2239-1. For the sake of internet comparison, it was $10.99 at Lifeway. The Dixons volunteered to lead the first session at the next meeting. Thanks for that! (I think Winnett is leading the second session).

I suppose we'll need to have these now.

Julia's Update Info: It looks like Saturday, Sept 17th at 10am till 3pm there's an activity at Michaels’ that would be fun for the kids. This is a free family event where everyone can create fun and festive marshmallow folk.

Michaels also plans on having a petting zoo and bounce house. Carter Bloodmobile will also be there.
