2/21 POSC Meeting Notes

Mike and I were late so we missed a good portion of the meeting but I know it was good- Todd and Aurora led it. The good news is they are also leading on 3/7 since we didn't finish the chapter (I believe we were on page 40). What stood out to me about the lesson was the need for individual quiet time and couple quiet time. It was noted that it may be a good idea to take out an activity to make room for this new activity and/or to wake-up earlier. The following chapter (Chapter 3) is pretty interesting we found... check it out, I think Robin and Andy are leading this one.

2/24, Friday night 5:30pm (dinner at 6pm)
The Feeding of those involved in the Synod Retreat this weekend- Julia is helping out with the feeding of 80 people on Friday and is asking that we be willing/available to help out (before/during/after).

3/4 & 3/5, Saturday and Sunday
The Trip to the Woodlands- we're right on track. We've agreed to meet down there and it sounds like everyone is aiming for an arrival somewhere around 1pm (1pm being the check-in time). So far we're talking about taking the boat ride to the shopping area and enjoying the atmosphere before an early dinner that night. We'll head back to the hotel at a decent hour following. We'll plan on being packed up and ready to go the next morning in time for the 10:30am service the next morning (we won't make it back in time to checkout after service). Judy is talking about doing their Church Members doing a potluck but we still have our reservations for now just in case that doesn't work out. I'll plan on a follow-up call the week of to firm up details. This is still a surprise for Pastor Scott so we'll work out an entrance plan and all that fun stuff.

We're celebrating Andrew's Bday at River Legacy Park.

4/22, Saturday
We're celebrating Maria and Mikel's Bdays at Todd and Aurora's.

4/29, Saturday
Help Me Project- we're moving Andy, Robin, and Andrew back to Arlington. We'll need as many able bodies/pick-up trucks/large vehicles as possible to move everything. I'll volunteer to watch the kids at our house, anyone up to joining me?

2/7 POSC Meeting Notes

Just a quick recap on the 2/7 meeting...

The POSC T-shirt design has been agreed upon and okayed by Pastor Steve. The t-shirt color will be black and the rest of the details are being determined by Julia. We never did (to my knowledge) decide if we were going to get shirts for the kids though?

Doing the Valentine’s Dinner
When: Feb 11th
Details: This was said to be very nice last year and this year Julia is participating in making the desserts. We’ll get to enjoy a romantic meal with our spouse AND support a good cause. Oh yeah, childcare is provided.

Kole’s Bday (a kid’s event)
When: Feb 18th at Cliff Nelson 3:30 to 5:30pm

Serving Lunch
When: Feb 19th following 2nd service

Meeting (Aurora and Todd will lead the lesson)
When: Feb 21st

The Trip to See Pastor Scott
When: March 4th & 5th
Details: Julia is making a card for the congregation to sign, will have it ready for Sunday signing on Feb 18th. Chris found a good deal on a hotel and will be sending out an email with details. I have left a message with Judy regarding our surprise visit but have not heard back from her. Pastor Steve can't imagine there will be any problems.

A Camping Trip

2. Indicate if you have a tent/want to rough it, would like to rent a cabin, etc.

A Father/Child Fishing Trip

Details: Andy mentioned this as an activity possibility. Everyone seemed to like the idea, we're looking forward to firming up a day- perhaps in April or May?
